Children & Youth Ceremonies

Baby Welcoming / Baby Naming

Many parents opt to use a baby welcoming or baby naming ceremony instead of baptism rituals.

This is an opportunity to bring the family and friend circle together and formally welcome the child. Often they name the Guide Parents and incorporate Guide Parent expectations and vows.

Such a ceremony can be fully personalized for an experience that you will remember forever.

Baby Shower

We gather to “shower” a mother or couple with love as they prepare to welcome a new baby into their family. Family and friends come to give gifts and share in fun and bonding.

Those attending will likely not come together again until the baby welcoming ceremony; this is a wonderful opportunity to let the parent(s) know that they have a community of care and support around them.

Celebrant role: give a welcome or secular invocation or facilitate the activities

Adoption Ceremony

Like a baby welcoming ceremony, an adoption ceremony is a formal welcoming into the family for an adopted child.

It could include parental vows, naming of Guide Parents and their vows, and a family unity ceremony.

For older adopted children, this is a great memory for them that marks their inclusion in this new family and brings extended family and friend circle together in support and love.
